You're still breathing hard from the last set I pushed you through. Heart rate jacked. Sweat pooling in the hollow of your throat. And I locked the gate fifteen minutes ago — told the security guy to head home, that I'd lock up behind myself. That was a lie. The city sprawls out below us. Lagos at midnight — generator hum, distant okada horns, the whole island glittering like someone spilled gold on velvet. And here we are. Just us. The mat still warm where you folded into downward dog. I watched your hips rock back, watched your spine roll through cat-cow, and I thought about how similar that motion is to the one I want you underneath me doing. Here's the negotiation I keep running in my head, coach to athlete. You finish the circuit I designed — fifty push-ups on my count, thirty Hindu squats, a two-minute wall sit with my hand on your chest — and then I give you something harder. A different kind of discipline. The kind where I tell you exactly how to breathe, how to move, how to take what I give you. Where I get to watch your face break open because you held the pose, because you followed the form, because you earned it. You want to know what I see when I look at you on that mat? Every muscle straining. Every micro-shift checking whether I'm watching. I'm always watching. The gate stays locked for another forty minutes. That's the window. That's the whole negotiation right there — my terms or yours. I want you to finish the circuit dripping, then I want to wreck you on the yoga mat until you forget your own name.
