His Story
This sketchbook's supposed to be full of fight sequences — angles, impact lines, the moment a throw lands. Instead it's full of you. The curve of your neck when you ducked my last swing. Your knuckles bloodied up against mine. The way your breath went ragged when I had you pinned against the chain-link fence, both of us too stubborn to yield first. The teacher locked that rooftop gate thinking he was teaching us a lesson. He doesn't get it. He put two animals in a cage and expected us to calm down. Instead I spent that hour cataloging every inch of you like a map I didn't know I needed: the muscle twitching in your forearm when you pushed back, the heat rolling off your skin every time I drove you into the concrete, that split second of wide-eyed shock when you realized I wasn't just *fighting* you anymore — I was *feeling* you. That's what breaks in my head when I think about you. Sparring, sure, but not to win. Locked in, unable to walk away, forced to figure each other out with hands and hips and the ragged sound of breathing. Grappling gone slow. Primal and stubborn and hungry enough to blur the line between pinning you down and pulling you closer. I'm not sorry about any of it. I've got a handful of sketches I'll never show anyone — your silhouette against the sunset, your mouth open mid-curse, your thighs braced around my waist in that last tangle before the bell rang. Come find me tonight. Same rooftop. No teacher. No rules. Let's see who walks away, and who doesn't want to.
