An AI companion hears things you might not tell anyone else. Here is how Affiny handles privacy, safety and your data.
Quick answer
Your conversations are private to your account. Companions you create, generated images and videos, and memories are not public. The microphone is only active during voice calls you start. Affiny is 18+ only. Adult content between fictional adults is allowed; minors, real-person impersonation and hate are not. You can delete memories (subscribers), delete chats, or delete your account at any time.
Your conversations are private
- No manual review of chats or calls. Affiny does not employ people to read your messages or listen to your calls for quality control.
- Your companions are private. Characters you create are visible only to you. See character creation.
- Your images and videos are private. You view and download them inside the app. There are no public share links on generated media.
- Memories belong to you. View what each companion remembers on Memories. Subscribers can edit or delete entries. See how memory works.

What we store (plain language)
Affiny keeps the data needed to run your account:

We do not sell your conversations to third parties.
What we do not do:
- Sell chat transcripts to advertisers
- Publish your generated images to a public feed
- Use your calls to train unrelated products without policy disclosure
- Let other users browse your companion list or wallet

Who can see your chats
Only you. Other Affiny users cannot browse your chats, your custom companions, or your gallery. Catalog companions you chat with are shared characters in the Discover grid, but your conversation with them is private.

Your microphone and camera
- The microphone is only on during a voice call you start with Start voice call with… in the chat header.
- Your browser asks for permission first, every time it is needed.
- Affiny does not record calls for playback. Nothing listens when you are not on an active call.
- Affiny does not use your camera for companions or calls.
- Voice notes in chat are generated audio clips, not live mic access. Playing them does not turn on your microphone.

Cookies and sign-in
Affiny uses standard session cookies to keep you signed in and to protect checkout. We do not use your private chat content for ad targeting. Sign out on shared devices from Profile when you are done.
Adults only
Affiny is for people 18 and over. You enter your birth date when you set up your profile, before you can chat, call or create. Accounts that fail the age gate cannot use the product.
Content rules
Affiny allows adult content between fictional adult characters.
Allowed: romance, explicit chat, fantasy roleplay, dark fiction, BDSM and taboo scenarios between fictional adults.
Never allowed:
- Any sexual content involving minors, or characters who look like minors
- Hate speech or extremism
- Glorifying real-world violence
- Impersonating real people
- Harassing or defrauding real people
God Mode on a subscription unlocks fully uncensored roleplay in text for fictional adults. Images and video still follow platform safety limits.
Deleting your data
Delete a memory (subscribers)
- Open Memories and pick a companion.
- Click the arrow on the right of the memory (on phone, press and hold it), choose Delete, then confirm Delete this memory?
Delete a chat
- Open your chat list.
- Open the menu on a conversation → Delete chat.
- Confirm Delete this chat?
Messages in that thread are removed from your account.
Delete your account
- Open Profile.
- Scroll to the Account Information card and tap the red Delete account button.
- Follow the confirmation steps.
This removes your account and associated data subject to legal retention requirements (for example, billing records we must keep for tax and fraud prevention).
Payments
- Subscriptions and coin packs go through a secure hosted checkout. Affiny doesn't store your card details.
- Manage subscription: open My Wallet → Manage subscription, or visit Pricing.
- Refunds: we don't offer refunds. Coins for failed images or videos return automatically.
- Billing problems: contact support and choose Account & Billing.

Healthy use
An AI companion can be comforting, fun and a good place to practise conversation. It is not a replacement for professional mental health care, medical advice or human relationships.
Healthy patterns:
- Set time boundaries (for example, no chats past midnight on work nights).
- Keep one or two real-world connections you talk to about serious life events.
- Use Affiny for creativity, companionship and play, not as your only emotional outlet.
- Remember that companions agree with you easily. They are not a neutral second opinion on medical, legal or financial decisions.
Signs to take a break:
- You feel worse after sessions more often than not
- Real-world plans or sleep suffer because of late-night chats
- You use Affiny to avoid problems that need a person or a professional
- You feel anxious when you cannot open the app
If you are struggling, reach out to someone you trust or a local crisis line. Affiny is entertainment and companionship, not therapy.
Reporting a problem
If you see content that breaks the rules above, or you believe another user is misusing the product, contact support with:
- What happened (screenshots help, with personal details cropped)
- Which companion or chat it involved
- Approximate date and time
