Personality is what makes two companions feel different even when the conversation topic is the same. Affiny gives you 44 named presets when you create a companion, plus four live sliders for subscribers who want to steer tone mid-chat or before a voice call.
Quick answer
Pick one core preset at creation (44 options in six groups). That sets her base temperament. You can change it later for companions you created, from My Characters → Edit. Subscribers can nudge live tone with Energy, Mood, Desire, and Playfulness sliders from Companion Panel → Chat Settings → Personality, or on the call screen before Start Conversation. Preset = who she is; sliders = how she shows up right now.

When you use the Full Builder or Quick Create, you pick one personality from a searchable list. Options are grouped so you can browse by vibe:

Takes-charge types: Dominant, Submissive, Protective, Fierce, Bold, Stoic, Rebellious.
Good for power dynamics, protectors, bad-boy energy or calm-unshakeable partners.
Heart ❤️
Warm and emotional: Romantic, Caring, Nurturing, Gentle, Passionate, Spiritual, Anxious.
Good for soft girlfriends, devoted partners and emotionally open storylines.
Social ✨
Charismatic and fun: Playful, Witty, Charming, Sassy, Confident, Cheerful, Flirtatious.
Good for banter, teasing and light everyday chat.
Edge ⚡
Intensity and mystery: Mysterious, Wild, Adventurous, Villainous, Yandere, Ambitious.

Each preset includes a short description in the picker (for example, Tsundere: cold at first, warm once comfortable). That description feeds into your companion's backstory and image prompts, so the choice matters beyond a label.

Picking a preset in character creation
- Open Create in the sidebar and choose Full Builder (or finish Quick Create and edit on Review).
- On the Personality step, tap Select personality.
- Browse by group or search (try "tsundere", "dominant" or "shy").
- Tap a card to select it, then set Intelligence (how sharp and articulate they sound).
Catalog companions already ship with a preset baked in. When you build your own, this step is where you define it.
Pairing preset with relationship dynamic

Subscribers fine-tune how a companion acts in conversation without rebuilding the character. Open Open companion panel → Chat Settings → expand Personality.

Tap Reset to Default in the panel to return all four to the middle.
Sliders apply to text chat immediately. The same four appear on the call screen (Personality tab) before Start Conversation, so phone conversations match the tone you set in text.

Which should you pick?
- Know the trope? Start in the Anime group or search the name (tsundere, kuudere, etc.).
- Want a realistic girlfriend vibe? Try Heart or Social, Romantic, Caring, Playful and Witty are popular first picks.
- Want tension? Edge and Sensual groups lean into mystery and flirtation.
- Already chatting? Subscribers can adjust sliders first; if the core archetype still feels wrong, create a new companion with a different preset.
Personality and memory
Your companion's preset shapes how they talk about what they remember, not what they remember. Memory is separate, facts about you persist across chats and calls regardless of slider tweaks.
